Morehead City North Carolina Tourism - Deep Sea Fishing Charters, Scuba Diving, Historical Sites, Nearby Beaches

Morehead City is 45 minutes north of New Bern. It is close to Beaufort and Atlantic Beach.

 sea turtle pictureCatch one of the Chartered Fishing Boats that go to the Gulf Stream to catch marlin, mackerel, bluefish, tarpon. Participate in one of the many fishing tournaments held here each year.

Go Scuba diving for shipwrecks and buried treasure. Try one of the wonderful waterfront seafood restaurants. Visit the fresh Fish markets. Shop at the many gift and antique shops. Take a sea Kayak tour. There are no beaches here but you can drive a short distance to one of the area beaches nearby. Ride ferry to the Cape Lookout National Seashore on the NC outerbanks or Hammocks Beach State Park.

Carteret County Historical and Genealogy Society is located at 100 Wallace drive. There are exhibits featuring Native American artifacts, military and maritime information, art gallery

North Carolina Seafood festival is held the first weekend in October on Morehead city waterfront, music, arts and crafts
